The Relief Society organization was organized in the year 1842 and for 176 years has blessed the lives of millions of our sisters and brothers. According to the Makati Stake Relief Society President, Sister Geneva C. Ballada, pioneer women helped their sisters in the church not only in terms of food but also in terms of service such as taking care of children and washing clothes. Sisters were helping each other build their foundation of righteousness, faith, hope, and charity. Pioneer women know how important it is to the Lord to exercise love with all sisters in "zion". Being true to the Relief Society motto: "Charity never faileth", they know that without charity in everything we do, it is useless.
The Relief Society Presidency from Makati Stake showed their love and charity by donating soap, shampoo, detergent, toothbrush and other toiletries to the Sanctuary Center for Women in Mandaluyong. The gathering started with an opening hymn, "Because I have Been Given Much I too Much Give." and an opening prayer by Sister Gloria Regala. President Arzaga gave shared a message about The parable of a good Samaritan. He explained the importance of charity and unconditional love that we should give to everyone. Women from the center showed interest and familiarity about the parable and learned a lot from him. President Ballados also shared the importance of knowing who we really are and that we should always remember that we are all children of God. He also shared two ways on how we can show our love to God . First is to pray, to communicate to Him. Secondly, read the scriptures if you want Him to communicate to you. Doing these things will help us love one another and forgive our fellow men. Each of us encounters problems and no one is excused for that, but we will be strengthen to face the challenges in life. Women should always remember that they are a reason why we are alive and also an inspiration of all men.
