Red Hearty Party (Multi-Stake Youth Pre-Valentines Party)

The youth are the future leaders of the future generations, so we must help them prepare themselves to become a good one.

As for the three stakes (Makati, Makati East and Mandaluyong) are preparing for the coming FSY this 2018, they conducted a youth pre-valentines activity last February 10, 2018 at Buendia Chapel. One of the main purpose is for the youth and for the councilors to be familiar and to start to get along with each other. (Insert Citation)

The Multi-Stake Youth Pre-Valentines Activity was titled “Red Hearty Party”. As I looked around the venue, I saw a lot of young generation that made me reminisce my youth days. I feel so excited with every activity that the church had conducted for us. Now, as I roomed around and witnessed the loud laughter of the youth, I became curious if the youth now a days also have the same feeling, expectation and excitement that I had before.

I approached one of the youth in the event and asked his name. His name’s Enzo Castro. After we introduced ourselves with each other, I asked him how does it feel to be a part of the pre-valentines activity and that the purpose of it is not just to celebrate the valentines but is a preparation for the FSY 2018. He then gave me a smile and shyly told me that he’s excited to meet new people and to make friends. And also, I met the Aggabao siblings in the said event. I asked Nathalie and Clark if the activity will be effective for them to prepare for the FSY and what will they do to approach the other youth from other stake. Nathalie answered that it really does help for they will meet the other youth that will surely attend the FSY. Clark, in the other hand, shyly told me that he will ask the young women to dance with him, of course with respect. I realize something as I listened to the answers of these wonderful youth. The said activity has a great purposes and that’s to learn how to build relationships and trust and train ourselves to socialize without having a damage in our spirituality. In this activity, it will train the youth to act modest. Being modest in all our actions will give respect to yourself, to other people around you and to our Heavenly Father.

The first segment of the event was hosted by the youth of Makati Stake. President Ferdinand Arzaga, the Stake President of Makati Stake, gave the opening remarks. He said that the pre-valentines party was like a great reunion of the three stakes. He gave a warm welcome and inspire everyone about the story of the four sons of Mosiah. He also mentioned one of the blessing that the stake will soon receive and it is the approval of having an institute of religion at Buendia (BPIR: Buendia Philippine Institute of Religion).
